Eligibility:
  1. Citizen of India who has passed B.A./B.Sc. degree examination of Bangalore University or any University in India or abroad recognized as equivalent through 10 + 2 + 3 pattern of education obtaining 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for 3 years is eligible for admission to B.Ed. Course provided:
    1. He/She has studied at least any ONE of the following languages:
      (i) Kannada (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Urdu (v) Marathi (vi) Sanskrit


    2. Any TWO of the following Electives:

      (i)History (ii) Political Science (iii) Sociology (iv) Geography (v) Economics (vi) Philosophy (vii) Psychology (viii) Physics (ix) Chemistry (x) Botany (xi) Zoology (xii) Geology (xiii) Mathematics (xiv) English (xv) Kannada (xvi) Hindi (xvii) Urdu (xviii) Marathi (xix) Sanskrit (xx) Micro Biology (xxi) Bio-Technology (xxii) Computer Science (xxiii) Electronics (xxiv) Statistics


  2. Minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility in the case of SC/ST, Category-1 and Physically Handicapped students shall be 45% in the aggregate of 3 years of their degree course.


Duration of the Course & Medium of Instruction

  1. The duration of study for B.Ed. semester course shall extend over a period of one academic year of TWO semesters. The duration of first semester shall be of 16 weeks and second semester shall be of 18 weeks (204 working days).


  2. Minimum duration for practice teaching shall be of SIX weeks which excludes programmers like micro teaching, simulated teaching and practice of communication skills.


  3. The college shall provide instructions in both Kannada and English mediums separately in core-subjects provided the total strength of students in such class is more than 40. However, English and/or Kannada shall be generally medium of instruction for content cum Method of teaching school subject.


  4. Student-teachers shall opt English or Kannada medium for teaching practice irrespective of their medium of instruction opted for theory papers in their colleges.


  5. Student-teachers shall opt either English or Kannada medium to write their 1st Semester and 2nd Semester examinations irrespective of their medium selected for theory classes and teaching practice.


Teaching Practice:
  1. Every student-teacher shall prepare 12+1 lesson plans in each C.C.M, subject which are to be guided and approved by the concerned method master. The marks of best 5 lessons could be taken for awarding marks to practice in teaching.


  2. Practice teaching shall be in one block or spread over-type depending upon the convenience of the college with a minimum duration of 6 weeks.
